Well, there is some progress. I tried Christian Mayer's suggestion to change all tabs to spaces in both X15.xml and c172.xml and it works (sort of). FG no longer crashes, but now it hangs. However, the output file is now much bigger (15K instead of 8K), so I guess I got past one problem and encountered the next. I do have a JSBout.csv file now which I didn't get before the tab-to-spaces change.
For Tony, yes I'm using the 0.7.8 base package (pre-compiled win32) on a Win NT4 machine. For Jon (or other people who are interested), I saved the output and JSBout files.
