The standard approach speed is 1.3Vs or 65 knots flaps up and 56 knots
flaps fully extended. 

So, you might try starting fgfs like this:
fgfs --glideslope=3 --altitude=1000 --vc=65

The pitch trim, throttle, and aircraft attitude should be set for you.
