I just finished building/installing 0.7.10 on a RedHat 7.3
system. Everything went smoothly, except the runfgfs script
never got installed. There are a couple runfgfs.bat files
under /usr/local/Flightgear, but runfgfs didn't get installed
anywhere. Copying it from src/Main to whereever seems to work
OK.
Currently I'm seeing about 5sec/frame (600MHz PIII w/ ATI Rage
128). I'm assuming that OpenGL isn't using any hardware
accelleration. I've looked at the FAQ, and the hints are all
pretty general:
1) run lsmod as root to see what modules are loaded...
2) You should also make sure that you are loading the appropriate
modules in your XF86Config...
3) Make sure OpenGL libs are installed and configured
correctly...
Anyplace I can find specific info on question like what "the
appropriate modules" would be or "is OpenGL configured
correctly?"
I've looked for the HOWTO at linuxquake.com, but it's been MIA
for over at least a month now.
