You will definitely find a lot of thankful readers. A couple of remarks:
1. There were a some Howto like posts during the last days by knowledgeable
people. Perhaps these might serve as a good start.
2. The Howto could be distributed with the code. However, some people might
want to figure how to run CVS before getting the code. Thus I think the
FlightGear website might be a better place. Curt will certainly host it. Of
course, there is already a page on using CVS there.
3. Writing a Howto is one thing. Updating it continuously another one.
Nothing makes more confusion than outdated docs. Believe me.
