Was that the 50 foot rope and bell approach? Hang a 50 foot rope with a bell on it out the cockpit window. when the bell starts ringing you are at minimums <G>.

I'd hope for a dock, a ramp, and a windsock as well.

Some seaplane bases even have IAPs published - I remember an example
in the Jeppesen IFR manual :=)
