I believe you have to tune your comm radio into an appropriate ATIS frequency to hear the vocal ATIS weather reports. In the base package under data/ATC/default.atis there is a list of airports and frequencies.
It is easy to listen to the ATIS but how do you shut it up?
I've tried switching to the standby channel and even retuning to an entirely different channel but she won't shut up!
The only way I've found is to switch the sound off.
