Hi !
Just checked out your script - I wouldn't mind creating the binary
patch, but looking for the required pre2-base download on ftp.flightgear.org I couldn't find it anymore, if it's still there I
would need to know WHERE to look, otherwise Curt might put it there
again - or if anybody else still got the pre2-package, please tell me
where it's available.
I think the overall idea of providing binary patches for the base packages is a pretty good one, using Stewart's script one could even automatize building these patches and also offer these downloads on flightgear.org, I agree that it would be pointless to have everybody download a 85 meg file, just for some minor changes - so in the end, this might even reduce the traffic for the flightgear.org webpage.

Could someone help make an upgrade patch for fgfs-base? I've posted a perl script at http://www.geocities.com/sandreas41/corral9.html to automate the sorting and binary diff work.
I admit, I'm lazy. I don't want to wait another 9 hours to download base-pre3 over modem speeds. I can't imagine the differences to be that big from pre2 to pre3.
Thanks Stewart

Hi Curtis, Is there any way to get a patch.tar.gz of only the differences from base-0.9.5-pre2 to pre3?
Perhaps you could ask on our mailing list.

I can post it on the ftp site.

Curt.
