It looks like this problem is caused by the fact that you have X11 installed under Cygwin. My best bet is to de-install X11 in try again.

This is a stab in the dark, but you might try making sure that you have not set the DISPLAY environment variable. If the DISPLAY environment variable IS set, try doing an:


unset DISPLAY

That has worked for me in similar situations.
