Hi all, I stumbled across this site which are building hardware that aims to be compatible with Flightgear. (They have stated that they are not interested in getting the hardware functional with
"We (a friend and I) are building a 747-400 type cockpit that will be run by the Open Source (GPL) Multiplatform flight simulator flightgear (FlightGear) and some other bits and pieces of software, including a set of Glass Cockpit software that I'm developing right now."- http://cockpit.varxec.net/mail.html Could be worth following if you are wanting to build a cockpit or have some physical controls/displays. All firmware, drivers and other software is GPL (currently Linux only though, they are happy to work with people to port the code to other platforms.)
