As a funny, geeky aside, last Easter I was in Sault Ste. Marie.  I
accidentally left my charts in the plane, way out of town at the
airport, but I wanted to file my flight IFR flight plan before heading
out.  I had my notebook with me, and it happened to have the DAFIFT on
it, so I ended up planning the flight straight from the tab-delimited
data files (of course, in the plane, I had the legally-required
navigation charts).




My latest geek story is that I managed to install Fedora Core 3 on a work laptop while driving home one day. I waited until I was stopped at stop lights to do the tricky bits.
