Curtis, Thanks for being so helpful; I've been going around in circles, with SimGear asking for automake 1.5, then when I installed that, it went into a different directory from the installed version 1.4. Then, I had to find and install autoconf 2.59.
Automake 1.4 is in /usr/bin, and automake 1.5 is in /usr/local/bin. If I can impose on you a little more, could you possibly tell me how to straighten this out - or point me to a resource where I can read up on such?
