I'm agreeing with Curt on this.. Give the newbie a quick start with the exact instructions for a standard install and then the explanation of what is going on. Some user coming from a windows background don't like to read too much.
to put it one way: How many of you read the manual before install Microsoft office? It would be nice to have a "wizard" to fetch and install extra scenery and aircraft, perhaps running off fgrun or entirely separate program.
