I'm in the process of developing a model of the Hawker Hurricane. I usually
do this using CVS/Cygwin, but by chance I decided to use Windows XP/FG
0.9.8. I'm using a legacy version of the engine definition of the Merlin in
YASim, because the version in 0.9.8 has bugs (recently corrected in CVS).

When I first use FG I'm getting much the same symptoms as you describe:
take-off is difficult, and the model won't climb. There are no obvious
causes in the property browser, and I can't see the YASim output. If I reset
FG all is well, and aircraft performance is restored. On reset, I can read
the YASim output, and it's reasonable. This is reliably repeatable.

I don't intend to pursue this one, because the Hurricane model is taking up
much of my time, and I know that Andy has recently modified the YASim engine
code in CVS which I want to work with.

Regards,

Vivian
