Hi,
I have a problem to run fgfs from an user account; I am using a fedora core 3 system.
I installed FlightGear 0.9.8 in /usr/local/FlightGear-0.9.8 and the base package is located in /usr/local/FlightGear-0.9.8/share/FlightGear
When I tested FlightGear from the root account, everything went well.
If I run fgfs as a user without options, it run ok as well; but if I try to give options, like using another aircraft, I get the following answer:
----------------------------
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ /usr/local/FlightGear-0.9.8/bin/fgfs &
[1] 6138
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$

Base package check failed ... Found version [none] at: /usr/local/FlightGear-0.9.8/share/FlightGear # Tells FlightGear where to look for its root data files
Please upgrade to version: 0.9.8

[1]+ Exit 255 /usr/local/FlightGear-0.9.8/bin/fgfs
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$
----------------------------
I checked the /usr/local/FlightGear-0.9.8/share/FlightGear directory, and found the version file as expected;
I thought there could be a permission problem; in the doc, I found a reference to the 1000 user and 1000 group; I set up these, and set my user account to belong to the group 1000 (FlightGear); it didn't change the problem.
Then, I wrote a .fgfsrc file to place my options there; as I expected, same problem.
Now, I don't know were to look for; so I asked your advices.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Patrick.
