You're going to need a newer graphics card than the TNT2. I used to run FlightGear on a 32MB TNT2 up until about two and a half years ago when it stopped working after some CVS updates. I was getting all sorts of random video problems all of which disappeared after getting a Geforce 4. Updating drivers did not work for me. I just dropped the GF4 in without touching the drivers and FlightGear ran perfectly. The rest of your system is fine though.
