VOR does not use triangulation ... it uses a a reference radio signal and another out of phase to indicate azimuth from the station. You can use DME or time * distance to calculate distance from the VOR. google for "VOR navigation" for a plethora of tutorials. Also, the simpler the navigation aid, the more work to navigate.
