Hi Edward,
Ignore that part of the getting started guide, portions of that document
are starting to get pretty far out of date. Just go straight to the
FlightGear download site:
http://www.flightgear.org/Downloads/
Best regards,
Curt.

In the "get started" web pages there is a refference to
http://icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/walisser/fg/ for Mac binaries. The web

available for the Mac OS x?
Thanks.
Edward,
First thanks for bringing this broken link up.
On the flightgear.org Download page it recommends going to the
macflightgear project sourceforge page
Link: http://macflightgear.sourceforge.net/
Say, which "get started" web page are you referring to? I assume that
you are meaning the Install Guide?

Yes it was the install guide. I checked the alternate link:
http://homepage.mac.com/walisser and that was OK.
I was able to download the binaries.
Once again I would like to get in contact with some Mac users of FG. I
have a lot of simple Mac-UNIX questions which I hate to inflict on the
rest of this site. Are any of you out there?
