1) You have some training instructions for starter-pilots there. Maybe you 
could make up some training flights, similar to the ones for take-off and

Right. I will do that if I write a tutorial about navigation. Currently I don't have enough knowledge of the rules and procedures involved in a complete training flight.

2) You could add some saved-flights as starting-points. For example you could 
save a flight just before approaching an airport.  So by starting fgfs with 
this the reader could practice landings. 
  
Problem is I never managed to save and load a flight in FlightGear.

I will add a command line to the tutorial, that will place the plane in front of the runway. Like this:

fgfs --offset-distance=6 --altitude=1000 --vc=120
