I like that idea, although I'd imagine the variety of setups
running Flightgear is enormous! I also currently think that
Flightgear 'spec' is in need of a re-evaluation, depending
on the desired eye-candy level of the user. Perhaps a minimum
spec "to get it running" is useful, plus a "desired minimum" to
allow 3D clouds and other eye-candy would be useful, since the
new features can really tax even newer hardware...

I'm running an Athlon64 3000+ with 512 MB, and a 256 MB FX5700
gfx card. I run fgfs at 1280x960 windowed, with eye-candy up to
the max. 4x9tap FSAA and 8x aniso +tex sharpen. Running the
thunderstorm scenario will drop framerate below 20 but usually
20-30fps is the order of the day...
