There are only three ways to deal with problems in open source software : (1) Contribute - which includes the submission of cheerful and reasoned bug-reports, (2) Be patient, (3) Stop using the application in question. The significant differences between this and dealing with problems in proprietary programs are: (a) that all of three options are free of charge, (b) that the developers are actually pleased to hear from you, and (c) that option (1) usually pays dividends. No one dies if FG crashes - and we can all keep our last known-good configuration safe somewhere if we want to fly through the occasional problem.
