It sounds interesting. But I doubt an open source project can achive it.
You'll allways need a company that is responsible (also for any lawsuits
if something goes wrong) and that can offer to do any maintenence work.

And that company could easily take FGFS as the main building block.
(Think of Linux and SuSE/Novell or RedHat - that's the same constellation)

So I hope that some company steps foreward now.
