I've tried installing the latest CVS openal, with problems. So I reverted back to the release in February (found at: http://www.openal.org/openal_webstf/downloads/openal-0.0.8.tar.gz). This installs fine. However, when I try and configure SimGear I get the error:
checking for library containing alGenBuffers... no You *must* have the openal library installed on your system to build SimGear! Please see README.OpenAL for more details. configure aborted. with the command: ./configure --prefix=/mnt/bigone/bigone-temp/flightgear/bin/SimGear/ --with-plib=/usr/local/plib/ --with-openal=/mnt/bigone/bigone-temp/flightgear/bin/openal/ As you can see, I've pointed the configure script to my install of OpenAL. Is this a version issue i.e. will I *have* to use the CVS version of OpenAL?
