I noticed that the AI thermal, which isn't supposed to have a 3D model (yet) does use the default glider for a model, and places it at sea level. It took me a while to figure out why I had "ditched gliders" in my soaring scenario :)
Eventually I'd like to create a model that is just a cloud, which would be positioned at the top of the thermal. In the mean time I'd like to give the thermal a "null" model, which is just a minimal AC3D model. Anyone know what is the minimum model for AC3D? One poly? No polys?
