Modelling 3D clouds as objects is so difficult that it's rarely 
done.  In the 3d world particle systems are more likely to be 
used and while some folk have/are worked/ing on particle systems 
for FG there's no time-scale for any sort of implementation, 
that I've heard of.  It's not trivial work so that's fair 
enough.

Perhaps a simple billboard object might work in this scenario 
though...
