Nick,

I don't use 09.10 but have seen some discussion on this autosave file. I stand to be corrected on this but, if you copy the preferences.xml (in FGROOT I think) into the folder that FG is expecting the autosave.xml that should allow you to atleast get fg started.

From what I understand, autosave.xml saves the current set up upon exit. The
discussion I saw related to a dislike of the autosave feature writing over the preferences.xml so a new xml file was created that the current setup is written too without effecting the preferences.xmll.

I hope this helps
:-D ene

Subject: [Flightgear-users] Error after installing (very 'new' with FG)
Date: Wed, 3 May 2006 22:18:47 +0300

I've downloaded the new version 0.9.10 on win XP, installed it in "D:\FG\ "and tried to start the program:

Here is what it sais:
START MESSAGE:
D:\FG\data>d:\FG\bin\Win32\fgfs.exe --fg-root=d:\FG\data --fg-scenery=d:\FG\da ta\Scenery;d:\FG\scenery --airport-id=KSFO --runway=28L --aircraft=c310-yasim --disable-random-objects --disable-ai-models --geometry=1024x768 --timeofda
y=noon
Error reading properties:
Failed to open file
at C:/Documents and Settings/nick/Application Data/flightgear.org/autosave.xml
 (reported by SimGear XML Parser)
Unknown exception in the main loop. Aborting...

D:\FG\data>
END MESSAGE.

An older version of FG worked on this system!
Have I done anything wrong? What could be the cause?

Thank you for your time !
