hi there. I installed FlightGear to my PC running Mandriva 2006, and the first thing I noticed that if you follow Docs-mini/README.Linux, you get nowhere.
I also noticed that the runflight (perl script that launches fg) is not copied anywhere during make install. Copying it manually, it would not run, claiming it could not find the data files. After enough tinkering with it, it now starts the FG, but it bombs again with something similar to: "cannot open /dev/[sound]/dsp" Starting it with --disable-sound also causes the above error. I thought those brackets were very interesting..
