OK, I've replaced the lspci with a root run, and added glxinfo and 
glxgears, both as root.

I now plan to build Xorg-7.1.  For sure the Xserver has bumped a few 
versions as has libdrm.  So there may be a few improvements.

One thing I meant to say in my first posting is that I get this error on 
just about any gl application, (inc fgrun and flightgear):
