That's how I originally started out: The traffic manager/AIManager would 
search for a flightplan with the name ICAO-ICAO.xml. Later on, I 
modified this to do all kinds of flight plan auto generation stuff. The 
original flightplan load stuff should still work, but I can't really 
tell for sure what the status is until after returning home.

You are right though that documentation is largely absent. It would be 
really great it if somebody could give me a hand with this. I have 
written a latex/pdf document that describes the file format, but haven't 
published it yet because there are a few remaining issues. I hope to add 
that to the new WIKI after I return home.
