Thank you Fred (and Charalampos too), that is a good hint. That works 
and gets me nice two-sided faces into a .ac3 file :-)

Now I can freely create one-sided and two-sided faces as I like inside 
Blender without adding any external additional step to the working pipeline.

Does that mean that the .ac exporter does not what Josh suggested (i.e. 
convert double sided faces to single-sided ones without asking)? What is 
going on, do you know more about that?

Anyway, I really didn't check what Charalampos suggested just because he 
was talking about textures (I was not), that was a bit misleading.
