are you sure your video drivers are up to snuff ?

i've seen in the past, not with FlightGear particularly, that wonky
video drivers can exhibit a behavior with some 3D applications, that
cause the 3D rendered scene to look like it is "nighttime" all the
time.

i'm not sure what is going on exactly in the 3D engine that causes
this anamoly, but i've seen it on more than one occassion as a release
note or technical support bulletin for other software.

a smart 3D developer might better know why this might happen.

it has something to do with getting a 3D card to do some type of
"operation" or transform, and it doesn't, or the card lies about being
able to do it when asked, or something ...

sorry ... very vague.

check those video drivers ... that's my message !
