Saitek Cyborg EVO Joystick folks. I was looking for a little better trim
control using the above joystick. Part of the problem was due to poor
center zero on the three axis. I took it apart and found the way they
brought the wires out of the stick forced the control not to readily
center. I repositioned the wires by splitting them (count wise) in
half. Then laying them in a non axis direction. This improved things a
bunch. Then I edited (using vim7) the
/usr/lib/FlightGear/Input/Joystick/Saitek/Cyborg-EVO.xml file.
I added several changes to it which seems to help. You might save
original and try this one. It has full up/down flaps (buttons #3 and 4)
and elevator incremental up/down (button #5 and 6) and plus added rudder
incremental rudder left/right left > and right <. Start up with the
throttle down and "v" until you get a rear view then hit "x" to zoom in
and Shift "X" to zoom out
It is advised to CAL your stick first after doing the wire change.
jscal (jscal --help), js_demo are good test programs.
