I'll try to reply to both your and Franz's emails.
I downloaded the Mac binary (preliminary v0.9.10 version of FlightGear for Mac OSX 10.4) from the FG download site. The binary file had a 4/15/06 date on it. In the package is a Mac OS folder which contains a FlightGear unix executable file. If I click on the package FlightGear opens at the usual default site with the C172 plane. It run as normal. I added addition scenery files and  terrasync run as usual ,adding new sections as the plane comes to them. In an email James Turner noted it was necessary to change aircraft with a command line in Terminal.
If I clicked on the executable UNIX file in the Mac OS folder FG opened with the C172 plane and ran the same as if I clicked on the package. I then went to Terminal and opened with the command line  - /Users/ecawley/FlightGear.app/Contents/MacOS/FlightGear --aircraft=T38 - FG opened and flew as normal with T38 as the plane, but when it reached the end of the default scenery block terrasync did not switch to the next scenery block. It acts as if terrasync did not load when I changed planes. What do I need to add to the command line to get it to load?

I'm not sure what the problem has been with others, it seem to load and run normally with the exception of the above. Running this way is not as convenient as Arthur's but even if one does not know UNIX ( I only know a little- I'm an old time HyperCard- Revolution programer) just clicking on the executable seems to get one started.

If this is still hard to understand, let me know.

I am running FG 9.10  from Terminal on a Mac ibook G4 under OS 10.4, if I run it direct with c172 it runs terrasync with no problem, now when I add a new aircraft with a command line terasync doesn't seem to work.  Do I have to add terasync with another command, if so what is it? What else would have to be defined by command line?

Ed, this isn't an answer to your question, but you appear to be the first person on the planet to compile FG 0.9.10 for the Mac platform.  We recently lost our main Mac developer.  Would you consider packaging up your version to benefit other Mac users that are interested in FG?

Thanks,

Curt.
