Does Athlon64 3000+ and GeForce 6800GS 256MB qualify? I'll give it a whirl if you like... > Local scenery ... the more I load the more impact on fps... have some > more pylons to addin and Andy made me a generic wharf model I want to > use around the Wellington and Lyttleton harbours. I've kept my poly count to an extreme minimum, mostly because my modelling skills are crap, but also to not overwhelm the poor old graphics card. I could put much more detail into the modelling of my objects, but time/skill are against me, and I suspect that too much detail will turn fg into a 'flight slideshow', not a flight sim. Maybe OSG will render the scenery faster... > Upgrading the PC... "like sand through the hour glass so is" money > through the bank account. Hehe. Know that story. It took some really bad grovelling on my part to get the 6800GS for our Athlon64, and then I had to promise to sell the FX5200 out of our P4 once I put the FX5700TD in that! The finance controller was not entirely happy about the deal, but she got some clothing after I got my graphics grunter... :-) > The web-site.... you are producing new models too fast for me to keep > the _Aust_ralian part of Australasian current ;-)... I'm not complaining > so please don't slow down I'll try not to...doing this FG stuff a few hours a day keeps my mind away from the morbid reality of job-hunting - thats going OK but its good to put my mind elsewhere too...
