Trying to get Terragear to compile I noted the loss of the GenAirport thus:
"You must have the nurbs++ library installed on your system to build

You should *definitely* use the current CVS version of terragear if you are
planning to do anything serious with it. Nurbs++ has been depricated and
is no longer needed. As you noticed, it became less and less well supported
by newer C++ compilers, wasn't a maintained body of code, and just became
impossible to use on modern unix systems. So I abandoned it in favor of a
simpler surface fitting approach.
