My suspicion is that somewhere the names are six (or more) characters long, 
and that they got truncated somewhere along the line.

I am thinking this because numbered series always seem to start with ZZZ01, 
then ZZZ02, etc. The CATnn series starts with CAT00, as if it was (at one 
point CAT100 (and the '1' got left off).

Simply a hypothisis...

I cheated, and changed the names of the Latin-American CATnn series to CAT1nn. 
FGFS seeems to accept 6-character fixes just fine, so I'm going with this 
until a real 'fix' comes down the pike...
