Hi,

I happen to be an rc pilot myself and contributed some code to a popular model
flight simulator called "crrcsim" (http://crrcsim.sourceforge.net).

To fly I almost always use a real transmitter (Robbe, Graupner or Multiplex),
not using USB but using the soundcard microphone input and the teacher-pupil
outlet that is found on many transmitters. In that case you don't need to
modify any hardware : only select the recording source, adjust the input gain
and you're done.

To make this work, crrcsim uses a small external driver called "portaudio" by
Joel Lienard and Lionel Cailler. I guess it shouldn't be to difficult to
incorporate this into FlightGear as well.

More info is available at http://www.portaudio.com

Bye,
Kees Lemmens.
