Here is the last discussion on the mailing list about it. There is also 
a windows site by Frederic Bouvier that has some info and tips but I 
don't have it bookmarked here. Trying to compile under cygwin is really 
tough. There is an alternate way using MSVC.  What might be a nice 
project would be to make a compiled windows binary of  a recent cvs 
snapshot after a major change available on bittorent. 

I am in the process of putting Linux on a partition of my Laptop to test 
it for the changeover from Windows and with my experience trying to 
compile FG under cygwin that might be something to consider.  Dual 
booting into native linux.
