I wasn't planning on looking into this until the weekend, but for some reason I woke up extremely early this morning and figured I might just as well do something useful. I've just committed a backport of a better route finding algorithm from CVS/HEAD. This algorithm doesn't use the offending copy constructor. Please try and see if it works. I'm still at kernel 2.6.18.2-34-default, OpenSuse 10.2, gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20061115, which apparently doesn't crash on this, so I'm still a bit in the dark whether this really fixes the problem.
