Everything runs real smooth in Flightgear except the ground at the
horizon builds in chunks instead of smoothly. Which causes the lights
of the city to be above the horizon at night until the ground is
built.

I have the following in my nvidia graphics card which works very well,
except of course for the slow ground build. Any clues??
