I had the same problem with the Saitek rudder, so i attached it to
a USB hub (rather than connecting directly to the rear of the PC)
so that i can more easily re-plug it when necessary. Curiously, the
effect went away and i don't have to re-plug the rudder any more.
BTW.: the CH yoke works fine on my (linux-)system.
