Hi,

I am trying to build SimGear version 1.0.0 and am stumbling at the first
hurdle - configure.

configure complains that it can't find openal

> ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
bla bla
checking for library containing alGenBuffers... no
checking for library containing alutInit... no

You *must* have the openal library installed on your system to build
SimGear!

Please see README.OpenAL for more details.

configure aborted.

but the library is available.

> ls /usr/lib64/libopenal* -l
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     18 feb 20 19:22 /usr/lib64/libopenal.so.0 ->
libopenal.so.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 236896 sep 25 23:06 /usr/lib64/libopenal.so.0.0.0

Help! What am I missing?

Thanks
Alasdair
