Hi,

Flightgear has a better perfomance than MSFs- much better, though we havn't 
that eye-candy like them. (well: to be honest- the graphic is not up to date 
compared to other sims....)

It might be that your computer is much to good for FlightGear and you have a 
framerate above 100 and more fps.

Set the property /sim/frame-rate-throttle-hz to something the computers can 
deliver consistently. It is like the framerate-target in MSFS!

The other possible cause could be, that your OpenGL-driver isn't uptodate. 
FlightGear uses OpenGL instead of DirectX...
