Not in this case. OSG is cross-platform, and the forum article
describes what should work on both Windows and Linux and others.
The problem is only that it makes use of environment variables,
and MS Windows users do usually not know how to work with them.
Google will tell you:

(Either set them globally, or put them in a "batch script".)
