Looks like a typo in your version number I think it should be 1.0.0-17.3. It also looks like there is a newer versions available - 1.0.0-17.8 that is dated 2009-1-19. This may have fixed the problem you are having. But it is still an older version of FlightGear which is currently 1.9.1. So the versions available for SuSE are somewhat outdated.
