I have a question about the HSI in the Piper Seneca. There is a
discrepancy between the magnetic compass and the HSI, equal to the
magnetic variation. So, the HSI seems to be displaying true heading.
However, everything I read about HSI's says that it should display
magnetic heading. Since the HSI is a gyro device, it needs to be
adjusted to agree with the magnetic compass prior to flight, but I
cannot find a way of doing that.

Should the HSI be displaying magnetic or true heading? If magnetic,
how can it be adjusted to agree with the magnetic compass?

Thanks
Andrew
