I am working on a 64 bit machine with Redhat Enterprise Linux client release
5.4.

After quiet some effort, I got FlightGear installed on it. Here is a list of
packages I installed:

openal-soft-1.10.622

Mesa-7.7

freeglut-2.4.0

plib-1.8.5

OpenSceneGraph-2.8.0

SimGear-1.9.1

FlightGear-1.9.1

My graphics card is : nVidia Corporation G86 [Quadro NVS 290] (rev a1) (as
reported by lspci command)

I had to install Mesa because there was no GL library pre-installed on the
machine.

Right now, flight gear starts and I hear the sound of engine but the frame rate
is really low and the picture is very dark (you actually have to look hard to
see the plane).

Any ideas why this is so? Is it because I use Mesa? What is the way out of it?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ekhlas.
