That's a feature of the latest Xorg.  Just grab a recent source tarball 
and you're good to go.  As longas you monitor/TV provides valid EDID 
data, you're OK./

The challenge will be for those who use TVs to play FG; I had to jump 
through hoops to accommodate the huge amount of overscan on my TV.  And 
some TVs to this day provide seriously broken EDID info.
