..ok, then you either stole it ;o) or you wrote it yourself and you
license it any way you damned please, so, I recommend GPLv2 Red Hat
style until we have FG GPLv3. Red Hat built their business selling
GPL binaries dearly and giving free access to source for free.

..ok, that's a clean way to do it.

..yup, we have had FG fly-ins on a coupla of these servers, and every
time I'm on a mpmapXX.flightgear.org/, there's a dozen or 2 flying.

..a lot of people will volonteer that work under the GPL. Most
people here put their code on git servers, that also allows easy
source access, you simply tell your clientele to e.g. "git clone
git://mapserver.flightgear.org/git/simgear" or feed them an url
to a tarball on your web server over rsync "to save bandwith" and
scare away el-cheapo windroids and iPatent litigator fanbois.

..e.g. "git checkout -b 2.8.0 origin/release/2.8.0" saves tarball
disk space, and if you add file checksum logging to the scripts in:
http://wiki.flightgear.org/Scripted_Compilation_on_Linux_Debian/Ubuntu
you'll have an easy way to prove your case in court, should anyone
file a lawsuit on you, judges tend to get annoyed at sloppy lawyers
who needs "5 more weeks in discovery" because they dunno how to do
searches in a git style commit history, in _their_ pile of junk. ;o)

..another reason to go GPL, if you wait long enough, somebody will
volonteer work because they get fed up waiting for you to get off
your lazy ass. Now, don't push your luck too far. ;o)

..ok, means "probably 5-6-7-9-11-13-17 weeks."

> I hopes do Lite/free version first.

..hum. Don't call free unless it really is free as in freedom,
e.g. under the GPL, call it gratis or freebee so everybody sees
it is free as in free beer, if you do go that non-GPL route.

..the big money in in Android these days. Also why Apple and
Microsoft fan lawsuits on people like Samsung and Xplane.
Austin says he can handle US$1.5M, but the average cost when
Microsoft files bogus harassment suits, is US$3M, and since
Xplane isn't GPL, there's not much help out there for him.

..then again, we have these amusing yahoo bug splat suits: :o)
