I hope someone can help me to configure my flight gear simulator. I am a semi-retired pilot with a full instrument rating. I was introduced to Flight Gear by a friend who said it was very good to maintain IR competency – especially ILS approaches in marginal cat 1 /2 weather conditions. The problem I have is “Live Weather Data” (metar). When I first downloaded flight gear I always received the metars for any airport I entered. But the it suddenly stopped and no matter what I try I can not get the live data back. I am using windows 10, flight gear 2016.2.1, ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX750 Ti OC 2GB Gddr5 Graphics Card (which I am told is more than adequate to run Flight Gear. I have a continuous high speed internet connection. I have tried uninstall and reinstall but the same thing happens. No Metar available. I have tried to sort out the problem using command prompt. However I am not an IT engineer and do not really know what I am doing. I have tried command prompt “fgfs --prop:/environment/params/real-world-weather-fetch=true” but it just says fgfs not recognised. But then I might be doing it at the wrong time in the programme. I just am at a loss!!!!! PLEASE HELP !! Remember I will need very step by step instructions if you know how to solve my problem.
