Other young, up and coming acts performing are "The Fast Camels" from the UK and Geffen recording artists "Price". Also added is Alam Khan , son of the world famous Ali Akbar Khan who performs the north Indian classical music also popularized by Ravi Shankar during the 60's and at Monterey in '67. Along with Riders On The Storm performing a long list of Doors hits are Carlton Poward as Jimi Hendrix, Second Flyte as The Byrds, The Sun Kings performing The Beatles Sgt. Peppers album with an orchestra, songs from the hit '67 musical "Hair" performed by the Stagelight Troupe with some original cast members and The Floyd Project, a tribute to Pink Floyd, so all 40 th anniversaries are represented with a live performance! Moby Grape - Featured 60's Poster Artists We have decided to honor our Military, Veterans and Baby Boomers by making the general festival free for them to attend! Just show your AARP, military or veterans card at the gate on the day/s you attend and you're in for free. You can enjoy all the exhibits, attractions and second stage performances but does not include entrance to the main stage. If there are any tickets available for the main stage on the day of show we will discount them for Military, Vets and Baby Boomers. To qualify as a Baby Boomer you must be at least 50 years old. After much back and forth and searching for the actual decision makers in the MOBY GRAPE camp we have now come to the conclusion that the reunion as we had hoped to present of Moby Grape is not going to happen. We're very sorry as we were really looking forward to the possibility of presenting this long anticipated reunion at our event. Depending on who you talk to or what you read the issue seems to be that they feel they're not ready to perform at a level they're comfortable with. As we plan to promote this festival annually, perhaps we can feature them next year! All of us and I'm sure their fans wish them the best and can't wait for them to perform as a group once again. To make up for this loss we are negotiating with a couple of other worthy acts and will announce them as soon as we have them confirmed. We are organizing a great line-up of 60's poster artists who will be on hand to sign and sell their pieces of historic and recent artworks including Tom Wilkes, the artist who designed the original Monterey Pop Festival poster, Lee Conklin who is designing a new poster for this event, Cactus Pete and Grant with SF Rock Posters among others. We will also keep you posted on other Summer of Love celebrations especially the SF Summer of Love concert on September 2nd at Speedway Meadows!
